please read otherside picnic

welcome to my blog! my name’s vivi. I’m a trans lesbian and I never shut up about it. this is my personal blog that I use for a variety of purposes. you can expect a mixture of personal posts, general interest reblogs, yuri, feminism, and social justice on here, among other things. I soft block anyone under 18 who follows me.

I post a lot about transmisogyny theory. I’m no authority on the subject, I’m just a girl who’s very outspoken about it. I’m always eager to learn more about it, so if you have any readings on the subject that you think I might like, send them my way! if you find my posts interesting and want to learn more about transmisogyny yourself, two books that I think are great places to start are “whipping girl” by julia serano and “decolonizing trans/gender 101” by b. binaohan! for a link to my writings on the topic, check the links section under the readmore.

my bio is a bit purposefully inflammatory to discourage transmisogynists from following me, but I’ve written a post about why transandrophobia isn’t real, just in case you’re unfamiliar with the subject and want elaboration.

there are pieces of media I’m autistic about. some of them are otherside picnic, zero escape, persona 3, evangelion, and unfortunately, danganronpa. making ocs to roleplay the danganronpa killing game format with friends takes up a significant amount of my free time. I post about my ocs occasionally.

you can dm me if we’re mutuals! I’m not always the best conversation partner because contrary to whatever impressions you might have of me I’m actually kind of awkward and shy but I usually try to respond fairly quickly. if you want to get me talking your best odds are to ask me about my interests - especially my ocs. no pressure though, I like listening more than I like talking.

I’m poly and I have two girlfriends! they are @punishedskyes and @bubblegumpumpkin. I’m always loveposting!!! 🥰

lastly, I like monkeys. they are silly and cute :3

ocean vuong’s writing is fundamentally shaped by his experience as a q/ueer vietnamese refugee and he treats it with the richness and complexity it deserves. if your understanding of his poetry is primarily through snippets and quotes on the internet extracted from this larger context, or you’ve had limited engagement with a full body of his work, and esp if you’re white, you have no right to call it or him overrated or clichéd. he is an extremely skilled poet if you’ve actually read all of night sky with exit wounds (his debut poetry book), but gets nowhere near the level of earnest engagement with his poems as richard siken or frank o’hara does by so-called fans. even if his style isn’t to your taste, you can’t ignore the way his poetry has been deliberately fragmented and truncated to fit the tastes & bandwidth of white (anti-)intellectualism

the annoying thing about whenever a trans woman is revealed to be problematic is that tme people take the opportunity to whip themselves up into a transmisogynistic rage directed at all of us. I wish trans women could just complain about a trans woman we don’t like without this happening but tmes are always itching for an excuse to hate us

people don’t talk enough about the trauma callouts can cause and the fact people can and will use them maliciously to destroy the social life and often livelihood of people they just don’t like (often out of bigotry too!) since that would require applying critical thinking to what you read and understanding that you can’t just go “oh shit this person is being called out they must be Bad”

if you’ve been maliciously called out i love you. if you have trauma from being called out i love you

when a carrd is like “usual dni criteria” what the fuck does that even mean. you’re just admitting that you don’t even know what moral standard youre claiming to uphold here. literally “I agree with whatever everyone else is saying”
